About Louise Renwick
Nature and movement have inspired and energised me my whole life. Most of my childhood was spent outdoors – climbing, being on or in water, camping, riding my bike, running and exploring the countryside we lived in. Having worked as an outdoor adventure instructor and now as a yoga teacher, being able to combine these two passions and welcome young people to our retreat in Scotland is a dream come true!
Yoga became my solace in my twenties, during 4 years of city living working in publishing in Asia. It was here that my love of movement and exploring took a more indoors and internal perspective – since the great outdoors was far trickier than just opening the back door. Daily yoga practice helped me deal with elevated anxiety levels, feeling overwhelmed by deadlines and helped me get grounded when I got caught up in my thoughts. Escaping to nature happened at weekends, but it was yoga that helped me through the week.
My teaching has come along way since taking my first yoga training in 2009. I work in London now, with a variety of clients in their workplaces and homes – focussing on working out the tensions common in sedentary bodies, cultivating mindfulness and relieving stress and anxiety. The majority of my work is with teenagers and I am qualified teacher of Yoga and Mindfulness for Teens and for clients with eating disorders, as well as being a community and partner yoga teacher.
I still make plenty of time for being outdoors when I’m not working – I love getting muddy on my allotment, wild swimming, or whizzing around the countryside on my bicycle.
I’m delighted to be able to share my love of yoga and outdoor adventuring with young people during this retreat!
Robin Watkins-Davis
Hello! My name is Robin Watkins – Davis I am a fully qualified Sivananda Hatha Yoga Teacher, accredited with yoga alliance and independent yoga network. I work along side Teen Yoga as their youth ambassador.
As a teenager, I am one of the youngest qualified yoga teachers in the world and I have experienced first-hand the benefits of having this practice by my side every single day. Yoga is like a step by step guide on healthy living – It has transformed my life and I think it will transform yours, too.
I think yoga is an essential tool kit, that everyone should at least be aware of. It provides a solid foundation for when life gets tough, essential for the ever – changing, modern day life.
My yoga practice has taught me how to be truly happy from within, I think if you’re happy then life just flows beautifully – you develop great friendships, people enjoy your company, you feel motivated and your general health and immunity increases… What’s not to love!?!
Other than yoga I spend most of my time in the art room, playing guitar, going on long walks up mountains and enjoying time with family and friends.
